all of my old horrible designs were lost, like tears in the rain, with the mothership forums
this is my first design on no gob
Ironsight Eye
Artifact U
When ~ enters the battlefield, draw a card.
, Pay 1 life: Look at the top card of target opponent's library. You may put it on the bottom of his or her library.

it is bad for less obvious reasons

My first card designs were done on those little blank cards that were included with the gold-bordered championship decks. They were terrible and I remember none of them.

I don't recall my first design on the Wizards forum, but I recall posting this very early in my stay there. It was probably in the first five or ten cards I designed:

Lightblade Paladin

Creature -- Human Knight (U)
If Lightblade Paladin would be dealt damage, instead deal 1 of that damage to any other target.
2/1

The formatting has been updated to my modern sensibilities, but IIRC that was basically it.

Choose eight target permanents controlled by the same player. Their controller arranges them into the corners of a cube. Destroy one of those permanents of your choice and each permanent that was adjacent to it on the cube.

it's not bad at all. I'd been on hiatus for I think about six months or so, but that's a totally reasonable design. not brilliant, but good.

problem is I had about 7 or 8 years of experience at that point, so we weren't likely to get obviously terrible mistakes.

The oldest cards I remember was something like

:1:
Sacrifice cardname:make a 1/1 flying spirit.
1/1

Maybe it was only when the opponent attacked.
Flavor was an haunted armor I think

[+2] Choose one or two - Your hand phases out; or target zone you control gains hexproof until your next turn; or divide your library into non-equal piles of odd and even cards, then you draw from the second from right pile for the rest of the game.
[5] Red and white or blue creatures you control have +1/+7 and can block while tapped.
[-13] you get an emblem with "the first spell you cast each turn is uncounterable, has storm and shuffles your opponents library."
starting loyalty {2}
this should be legendary and you're missing some two-brid mana in the cost

Just had to go and show us all up didn't you? How can I even go on making cards anymore knowing somebody has already made the best card there could ever be?

Some more oldies of mine.

for artwork: google image some busty anime lady and use it without giving credit.

Оh my good.

Perfection. Especially this line: "The first spell you cast each turn has storm."

I can see why we need to bring this guy back.

I can't actually find Kevin, though. Or BankaiMastery. Or GM_Champion. Where is the man? Maybe he was just a collective hallucination?
I have only found a guy that made Mastery, mechanic that allows you to shuffle any number of copies of a card into your deck as it resolves. He was actively accused of being Kevin, though.
I want to see more of his cards.
I want to see if I'll actually like any, considering my love to unusual and complicated cards.

he was mostly active on the mothership, before the NGA switch. he found us briefly, but disappeared pretty fast. I imagine the mods just banned him, but he may have just not liked the environment here.

All this talk of old times is tempting me to post a thread for nostalgic recollection of my old works and their deconstruction in modern context.
